BluePhone provides a dedicated UK virtual phone number that allows customers to receive calls via a smartphone app using VoIP technology. We are registered as a sole trader (eenmanszaak) in the Netherlands. We are committed to protecting your privacy in accordance with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).

1. What We Collect

We only collect data necessary to provide our service:

  • Email address (for account login)
  • Display name (optional, chosen by you)
  • Assigned UK phone number
  • Call metadata (date, time, duration, caller number — we do NOT record audio)
  • Device token (for push notifications)
  • Stripe customer ID (for payment processing)

2. How We Use Your Data

Your data is used strictly to operate the BluePhone service: routing calls to your device, managing your subscription, sending transactional emails (welcome, cancellation, payment alerts), and providing customer support. We never use your data for marketing or sell it to third parties. The legal basis for processing is the performance of our contract with you (Article 6(1)(b) GDPR).

3. Data Storage & Third Parties

Data is stored in Firebase (Google Cloud) in Europe (eur3 region). We share data strictly with the following processors:

  • Telnyx — call routing and UK number provisioning
  • Firebase / Google Cloud — database, authentication, push notifications
  • Stripe — payment processing (we never see or store your card details)
  • Resend — transactional email delivery
  • Plausible Analytics — privacy-friendly website analytics; no cookies, no personal data stored, only aggregated page-view statistics

4. Data Retention

Your account data is retained for as long as your subscription is active. After cancellation, your data is retained for 30 days in case you wish to resubscribe. After 30 days, your personal data is permanently deleted from our systems. Call metadata may be retained in anonymised form for service improvement.

5. Cookies

Our website uses essential cookies only for authentication (Firebase Auth session). We do not use tracking cookies, analytics cookies, or advertising cookies.

6. Your Rights (GDPR)

Under the General Data Protection Regulation, you have the right to:

  • Access — request a copy of your personal data
  • Rectification — correct inaccurate data
  • Erasure — request deletion of your data (Article 17)
  • Portability — receive your data in a portable format
  • Objection — object to processing of your data

To exercise any of these rights, email support@bluephone.co.uk. We will respond within 30 days. If you are unsatisfied with our response, you may file a complaint with the Dutch Data Protection Authority (Autoriteit Persoonsgegevens) at autoriteitpersoonsgegevens.nl. If you are based in the United Kingdom, you may also contact the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) at ico.org.uk.

7. Security

All calls are encrypted using SRTP. Database access is protected by Firebase Security Rules. SIP credentials are stored in isolated collections. Webhook endpoints use HMAC signature verification. We follow industry best practices to protect your data.

8. Children

BluePhone is not intended for use by anyone under the age of 18. We do not knowingly collect data from minors.

9. Changes

We may update this Privacy Policy at any time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated date. Continued use of the service constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.

Welcome to BluePhone (bluephone.co.uk). By subscribing to our service, you agree to these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, do not use our service.

1. Service Description

BluePhone is a technical VoIP service provider, not a licensed telecom operator. We assign one dedicated UK virtual phone number per subscription for receiving incoming calls only. The UK number is non-transferable and cannot be ported out. BluePhone does not support calls to emergency services (999, 112). In case of emergency, always use a traditional mobile phone or landline.

2. Eligibility

You must be at least 18 years old to use BluePhone. By subscribing, you confirm that you meet this age requirement.

3. Subscription & Payment

The subscription is £15 per month, billed automatically via Stripe. Payment is due at the start of each billing cycle. If a payment fails, you have 48 hours to update your payment details via your dashboard. After 48 hours without successful payment, your account will be deactivated and your dedicated UK number will be permanently released back into our inventory and may be reassigned to another customer. We cannot guarantee the same number will be available if you resubscribe.

4. Refund Policy

All payments are final and non-refundable once a UK number has been assigned to your account. By subscribing and receiving a number, you explicitly waive any right to a refund for that billing period. Cancellation stops future billing only. Accounts that initiate chargebacks or payment disputes will be permanently blocked from the service and their UK number immediately released.

5. Acceptable Use

One account per person. One number per account. One active device at a time. The service is for personal use only; commercial resale is strictly prohibited. You must not use the service for any illegal activity, harassment, fraud, or abuse. We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms without notice.

6. Liability & Availability

BluePhone does not guarantee 100% uptime or uninterrupted service. We are not liable for missed calls, service outages, or any damages arising from the use or inability to use our service. BluePhone is not a replacement for traditional telephone services.

7. Cancellation & Termination

Cancellation by you: When you cancel your subscription, your access continues until the end of the current billing period. At the end of that period, your UK number is permanently released from your account and may be reassigned to another customer. You will no longer be able to receive calls on that number. We cannot reserve or hold numbers after cancellation.

Termination by us: We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts immediately for fraud, abuse, chargebacks, or violations of these terms. Upon termination, your UK number is released immediately and may be reassigned.

8. Governing Law

These terms are governed by the laws of the Netherlands. Any disputes shall be resolved in the courts of the Netherlands.

9. Changes

We may update these terms at any time. Continued use of the service after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.
